    Malcolm Wilson has been providing ongoing support to Don Church and GWC’s ongoing efforts to search for lost species and establish a long-term conservation project to ensure the preservation of the incredible biodiversity of Papua, Indonesia. Malcolm was born in Papua, and was raised amongst the Yali tribe who inhabit the Heluk Valley (Yahukimo Region) of Papua. He has since lived, worked and been educated in the Philippines, United Kingdom and Canada. Malcolm attended the University of Guelph where he studied International Development and Rural Development Sociology (BA). Malcolm is passionate about the environment and social justice issues. Malcolm is on the Board of Directors of the Scott Mission working to address poverty and homelessness in Toronto.

    Malcolm is based in Canada where he has been working as a police officer for more than 20 years. He has experience in Criminal Investigations and Intelligence with roles including team leader, agent handler while managing undercover operations, and as lead investigator for numerous criminal investigations. Malcolm was instrumental in creating a human trafficking unit and was formally recognized with an Agency of Distinction award by Timea Nagy of Walk with Me Canada for his role in the ongoing battle to end human trafficking.
