Lost! Amphibians of India

A massive campaign has been launched to find and save species that have been 'lost' to science in India. Around 50 amphibian species (including frogs and caecilians), described as recently as 18 years ago and as far back as 169 years, have eluded researchers in the field. These amphibians, which once lived in habitats throbbing with life, can currently be seen only in the silent and sterile unchanging world inside museum jars.

There are many ways you can make a gift to the Lost! Amphibians of India campaign. All donations are through Global Wildlife Conservation, a partner in the campaign along with the University of Delhi, the Amphibian Specialist Group, the Natural History Museum, London, the Wildlife Conservation Society, and Conservation International. 100% of your donation will go directly to supporting the fieldwork necessary to find India's lost species, and protect them before they disappear forever.
