Conservation Research and Action

ecology and evolutionary biology

GWC conducts basic research into ecology and evolutionary biology, helping to understand biological systems from individual to population, community, and ecosystem levels.

Conservation Status Assessment

We are working on furthering knowledge of the actual conservation status of animals and plants in the wild.

Species Extinctions

GWC scientists are collecting and analyzing the most comprehensive information on recent species extinctions. These data will help scientists and conservationists to know the causes and consequences of extinctions, and help prevent modern declines and extinctions.

Natural History

GWC scientists are teaming with university collaborators to bring new research and technology to bare in describing and documenting the natural world, including basic natural history of poorly known and highly threatened species.
