  • Pursues collaborative projects with relevant individuals, governmental, and non-governmental organizations.

The mission of Global Wildlife Conservation rests upon the foundation of a set of uncompromising values, and represents the solid convictions of all who represent GWC in past, present, and future capacities.

Science as our foundation

  • All GWC initiatives are based upon sound scientific conservation priorities;
  • GWC personnel, both permanent and temporary, adhere to best scientific methods and scientific integrity concerning wildlife and wildlands conservation;
  • GWC is committed to science as our mandate. As such, GWC and its personnel shall not surrender scientific principle for outside incentives.

Maintain integrity in practice

  • In all that we do, GWC, its staff, and its partners commit themselves to the highest of ethical standards in both personal and professional capacities;
  • GWC is staunchly committed to its mission as agreed to by the Board of Directors, and as such all active personnel are devoted to act to maintain cohesion to this mandate;
  • GWC personnel commit to working within a team environment, and will act with respect, honesty, honor, and integrity, towards each other, their peers, board members, partners, and the general public.

Respect diversity of persons, thoughts, and practices

  • GWC commits itself to the employment of persons from diverse backgrounds and embraces differences as being a strength to the overall purpose of the organization;
  • GWC recognizes the importance of differing viewpoints and will always encourage diverse, creative, and productive thoughts that act to strengthen our mandate regardless of the level of contention this may cause;
  • GWC strongly believes that multi-disciplinary approaches best achieve conservation priorities, and as such is open to creative ideas in instituting science in conservation.

Collaborate to conserve

  • GWC in all past, present, and future projects strongly believes in collaboration on a scientific, social, and political level;
  • GWC strongly believes that effective conservation comes before organizational prestige, insofar as effective collaboration will always be pursued regardless of the public outcome;
  • Given the international nature of GWC’s conservation initiatives, we recognize the necessity to collaborate with relevant in-country organizations, both governmental and non-governmental.

Commitment to action

  • In all that we do, GWC and its collaborative partners commit themselves to prioritize effective action.
  • Action speaks louder than words, and in a world where our wildlands and wildlife are disappearing at an alarming rate, GWC and its members are committed to action, regardless of the challenge.
